Kenner’s Music in the Park Series

Music in the Park returns to Rivertown in Kenner, thanks to private sponsors. For five Fridays, starting April 27, bands will perform outdoor concerts in Heritage Park in the 300 block of Williams Boulevard. The bands perform from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. In addition to the free concerts, local vendors sell food and crafts. No outside food or drink is permitted. On tap to perform are Groovy 7 on April 27; Yat Pack on May 4; Mixed Nuts on May 11; Contraflow on May 18; and Topcats on May 25. What better way to spend Memorial Day weekend than at the Greek Festival! There is entertainment for all ages, from kids’ activities to fun things for the adults to do, like dancing or renting a canoe to ply the calm waters of Bayou St. John. Lucky winners of random drawings may win trips to Greece and the fabled Grecian isles of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Those who wish to take something Greek home with them can purchase the latest festival poster or other souvenirs and handcrafted items. The cathedral and festival site are located at 1200 Robert E.
